The Botanical Garden of Prague, located in the Troja district near the zoo and Troja Chateau, is a lush sanctuary spanning over 30 hectares. Established in 1969 for scientific research, it now welcomes the public with diverse outdoor expositions, themed gardens, and the striking Fata Morgana greenhouse. This tropical greenhouse showcases exotic plants from rainforests, deserts, and mountain regions, including rare species like the Jade Vine and Dutchman’s Pipe. The garden also features St. Claire’s Vineyard, dating back to the 13th century, where visitors can enjoy panoramic views and sample local wines. Seasonal exhibitions, nature trails, and educational programs make it a dynamic destination for all ages. From Mediterranean flora to carnivorous wetlands, the garden offers a global botanical journey in the heart of Prague. Open year-round (except Mondays), it’s easily accessible by public transport and ideal for a peaceful escape, family outing, or cultural exploration.

The Botanical Garden of Prague is located on the scenic slopes of Troja Hill in the Troja district, stretching from the top of the hill down to the right bank of the Vltava River. The main entrance is easily reached by bus 112 from Nádraží Holešovice metro station, stopping at Kovárna or Zoo Praha – Troja, and parking is available near K Pazderkám Street. Covering over 50 hectares, the garden features extensive outdoor collections, the renowned Fata Morgana tropical greenhouse, and historic St. Clara vineyards, where visitors can sample local wines. The Japanese Garden, ornamental gardens, and panoramic viewpoints make it ideal for relaxation and photography. Nearby, you can visit the world-famous Prague Zoo, the Baroque Troja Chateau, and enjoy riverside walks or explore the lush Stromovka Park. The area is well-connected to the city center and offers a tranquil escape with a blend of nature, culture, and family-friendly attractions.
