The Old Town Hall Tower in Prague is a Gothic landmark that has anchored Old Town Square since 1338. Originally built as the seat of Prague’s self-government, the tower is famed for its Astronomical Clock, installed in 1410 and still captivating visitors with its hourly procession of the Twelve Apostles. The tower rises 66 meters, offering panoramic views of the city’s historic center, including the spires of Týn Church and Prague Castle. Inside, visitors can explore richly decorated halls, a Romanesque-Gothic underground, and the Chapel of the Virgin Mary. Though parts of the complex were destroyed during the Prague Uprising in 1945, the tower and clock were meticulously restored. Today, the site hosts guided tours, exhibitions, and ceremonial events, blending centuries of civic pride with architectural splendor. Accessible by elevator and open daily, the Old Town Hall Tower remains one of Prague’s most iconic and evocative destinations, where history, artistry, and urban life converge.

This iconic Gothic structure, established in 1338 and expanded over the centuries, is famous for its 70-meter-high tower, which offers panoramic views of the city’s historic center, including Týn Cathedral, St. Nicholas Church, and Prague Castle in the distance. The tower is also home to the world-renowned Astronomical Clock, where crowds gather every hour to watch the animated procession of the Twelve Apostles.
