The Stuttgarter Feuerwehrmuseum offers a captivating journey through the history of firefighting in Stuttgart, housed in a former factory building in the Münster district. Spanning over 900 square meters, the museum showcases the evolution of fire protection from medieval bucket brigades to modern professional fire services. Visitors can explore rare artifacts such as wooden water pipes (Deicheln), leather and hemp buckets, early fire alarms, uniforms, medals, and horse-drawn and motorized fire engines. The museum’s layout includes historical maps and photographs that trace Stuttgart’s urban development and water infrastructure in relation to fire safety. A highlight is the collection of over 25 fire vehicles, including a converted Porsche Cayenne used as an emergency response unit. The museum is open from April to November on the first Saturday and third Sunday of each month, with special exhibitions like Playmobil firefighting models adding a playful touch. It’s an ideal destination for families, history enthusiasts, and anyone curious about the bravery and innovation behind firefighting.

Housed within a former fire station, the museum presents a fascinating collection of around 25 motorized fire engines from different eras, alongside early rescue and fire-fighting tools, uniforms, and memorabilia. The surrounding area offers a blend of residential and recreational settings, with Travertinpark—a scenic green space known for its stone formations—just a short walk away. Nearby, visitors can find cozy local eateries such as Ristorante Pizzeria Da Mamma Maria and the riverside Restaurant Bootshaus, while the Neckar River path provides a pleasant route for a stroll or cycle ride.
