Geroksruhe Aussichtspunkt
Geroksruhe is a tranquil viewpoint in Stuttgart’s eastern district of Gänsheide, offering sweeping vistas over the Neckar Valley and the city’s southern hills. Established in 1890 by the Verschönerungsverein Stuttgart, the site was named in honor of Karl Gerok, a beloved court preacher and poet who often visited the area. Nestled at the edge of the Staatswald Frauenkopf, where the Pischekstraße meets the forest, the original site featured benches and a landscaped rest area. Today, the modern viewing platform stands just above the historic Hotel Geroksruhe, providing a peaceful retreat framed by vineyards and woodland. The nearby Rudolf-Keller-Brunnen, a grotto-style drinking fountain made of shell limestone, adds to the charm of the location.
