Galerie KK5 – Kunst
Galerie KK5 – Kunst Leipzig is a new cultural venue dedicated to bridging tradition and contemporary creativity, offering a vibrant platform for visual and performing arts. Opened in March 2025 by the Louisoder & Pfefferkorn Stiftung, the gallery is located on Käthe-Kollwitz-Straße 5, in close proximity to Leipzig’s Schauspielhaus, the Musikhochschule, and the historic churches of St. Thomas and St. Nicholas. Spanning 220 square meters across two floors, the space was designed under the direction of architect Sabine Schiweck to provide a flexible and inspiring environment for exhibitions and cultural encounters. Its inaugural show, Zwei Leben für die Kunst, celebrated the lifelong work of Leipzig-born artist brothers Axel and Peter Pfefferkorn, setting the tone for a program that highlights both established and emerging voices. Under the curatorship of art historian Dr. Sandra Braune, Galerie KK5 aims to connect generations, foster dialogue between fine and performing arts, and explore contemporary reinterpretations of classical motifs. With its central location and commitment to accessibility, the gallery is poised to become a dynamic meeting place for artists, audiences, and cultural exchange, enriching Leipzig’s already diverse and thriving art scene.
