The Central Museum of Textiles in Łódź is one of the city’s most important cultural institutions, housed in the historic White Factory built by industrial pioneer Ludwik Geyer. The Central Museum of Textiles in Łódź occupies the historic White Factory (Biała Fabryka) at Piotrkowska 282, on the southern end of the city's main pedestrian street. Built in 1839 by industrialist Ludwik Geyer, this neoclassical complex with its iconic chimney and mill buildings showcases Łódź's textile heritage through machinery, looms, fabrics, and the world-renowned International Triennial of Tapestry. Directly behind lies Łódź City Culture Park (Open-Air Museum of Wooden Architecture) featuring relocated 19th-century weavers' houses, a wooden church, and period villas illustrating the city's working-class history. A 20-minute walk north along Piotrkowska Street reaches Manufaktura shopping complex, vibrant cafés, street art, and the Museum of the City of Łódź in Poznański Palace; nearby Księży Młyn offers more factory-turned-cultural sites.
