The National Centre for Film Culture in Łódź is a modern institution dedicated to exploring the art, history, and future of cinema, located within the revitalised EC1 complex. Opened in 2023, it combines the functions of a museum, archive, educational hub, and cinema, offering one of the most extensive presentations of Polish cinematography. Its permanent exhibitions, including “Kino Polonia” and “The Matter of Cinema,” guide visitors through 120 years of film history and the full filmmaking process, from script to screen. The centre also develops studios for sound, animation, and special effects, creating a space where audiences can learn, experiment, and engage with audiovisual culture. The National Centre for Film Culture (Narodowe Centrum Kultury Filmowej, NCKF) is located at Targowa 1/3 in the EC1 Łódź – City of Culture complex, near Łódź Fabryczna train station in central Łódź, Poland. Opened in 2023 as part of Łódź's UNESCO City of Film designation, this modern venue combines cinema halls (Odeon, Luna, Urania), permanent exhibitions like "Polonia Kino" on Polish film history, and educational spaces dedicated to audiovisual culture.
