Museum Alexandrowka in Potsdam offers a unique glimpse into the cultural ties between Prussia and Russia, set within a preserved 19th-century Russian colony and UNESCO World Heritage Site. Founded in 2005, the museum is housed in House No. 2 of the Alexandrowka settlement, built in 1826 by King Frederick William III in memory of his friend Tsar Alexander I. The museum’s permanent exhibition explores the origins and daily life of the Russian singers who once lived here, showcasing original furnishings, personal artifacts, and Biedermeier-style interiors. Visitors can wander through six authentically restored rooms, each offering insights into the architectural, musical, and diplomatic history of the colony. The surrounding gardens, designed by Peter Joseph Lenné, enhance the immersive experience with their romantic landscape design. As both a cultural monument and living neighborhood, Alexandrowka bridges past and present, inviting reflection on identity, tradition, and cross-cultural exchange. The museum also features a garden café and seasonal events that deepen the connection to this remarkable enclave.

The Lindenstraße Memorial Foundation is located at Lindenstraße 54/55 in the city center of Potsdam. Set within a historic prison and courthouse complex, the site documents over five decades of political persecution under the Nazi regime, Soviet secret police, and the East German Stasi. Today, it stands as a memorial and educational center symbolizing the triumph of democracy following the Peaceful Revolution of 1989/90. The building, often called the “Lindenhotel,” maintains original cells and courtroom spaces, offering powerful insight into the city’s turbulent past. Its central location places it within walking distance of Sanssouci Park, St. Nicholas’ Church, the Potsdam Museum, and the Dutch Quarter. Nearby, visitors can also explore the Old Market Square and Nauener Tor, surrounded by cafés and historic lanes that reflect Potsdam’s architectural and civic heritage.​
