The URANIA-Planetarium Potsdam is located at Gutenbergstraße 71/72, near the heart of the city and within walking distance of Potsdam’s Dutch Quarter. Opened in 1968, it serves as an educational observatory and public star theater, offering live shows about astronomy, planets, and the universe. Visitors can experience realistic projections of the night sky under its domed ceiling and take part in interactive presentations such as “A Journey Through the Universe” and “The Starry Sky over Potsdam.” The planetarium hosts various lectures and special events in collaboration with research institutions like the Albert Einstein Institute.
