The Museum Barberini is located at Humboldtstraße 5–6 on Alter Markt in the historic center of Potsdam. Set in a reconstruction of the baroque Palais Barberini, originally built under Frederick the Great, the museum opened in 2017 and has since become one of Germany’s leading art institutions. It houses the renowned Hasso Plattner Collection, featuring over 100 Impressionist and Post-Impressionist masterpieces by artists such as Claude Monet, Pierre-Auguste Renoir, Camille Pissarro, and Paul Signac—the largest Monet collection outside Paris. The museum also hosts international temporary exhibitions spanning many artistic periods. Overlooking the Havel River, it stands beside the Museum Barberini Forum, the Brandenburg State Parliament, and St. Nicholas’ Church. The nearby Alter Markt, Lustgarten, and Havel embankment offer scenic walks, while Potsdam Hauptbahnhof is just a few minutes away on foot, making it easily accessible for visitors.​
