Sanssouci Palace
Sanssouci Palace in Potsdam is the former summer residence of Frederick the Great, King of Prussia, and a masterpiece of Rococo architecture. Built between 1745 and 1747 by architect Georg Wenzeslaus von Knobelsdorff, the palace was designed as a place “without a care” (sans souci in French), reflecting the king’s desire for retreat and intellectual reflection.
